This was the first American Bittern I have ever seen. One of the avid local bird watchers we ran into today said that this is an uncommon bird and this was only the second one he has ever seen. Chuck is the one that spotted him. I knew he was going to become a birder...

WOW! You take book-quality photos! That is an awesome shot! We haven't been able to add this one to our Life List yet, but we're hoping this will be the year.
